Ammonium is a major inorganic nitrogen source for plants.

Why is it Important?

Ammonia is the preferred nitrogen-containing nutrient for plant growth. Ammonia can be converted to nitrite (NO2 ) and nitrate (NO3) by bacteria, and then used by plants. At low external supplies, ammonium promotes plant growth, while at high external supplies it causes toxicity.

Order this test to analyze the Ammonium levels at any stage of your plants growth cycle. Perform this test early in the season to help manage fertilizer applications.

Sample Size Requirements: 10 to 15 most recent fully expanded leaves. Ship in paper bag to prevent moisture damage.
